We’re not in the habit of saying “I told you so,” but when we saw the New York Fashion Week spring/summer 2022 runway beauty looks, we knew we were on to something. While this particular season is usually full of pops of pink and shimmer pastels, this year also included dark romantic looks. See where we’re going with this? It seems like NUDESTIX DARK ROMANTICS KIT is perfect for spring/summer 2022 beauty trends. And since we’re heading into fall, these trends are definitely going to start early.
Not only was dark, moody makeup the star of the runway this month, but many looks were, dare we say, almost do-able? You can take inspo from the way makeup artists used dark eyeliner and shades of bronze and wine to make models’ features pop. And hey, just because we aren’t models, doesn’t mean we can’t rock these trends, too. Makeup is for everyone, after all. And the DARK ROMANTICS KIT is truly foolproof.
It includes Magnetic Matte Eye Color Pencil In Shades Terra (a soft terracotta), Cocoa (a chocolate brown), Hot Stone (a matte, cool greige), Shady Algae (a matte deep smokey blue-green), and Oh! Bergine (a matte, cool eggplant), as well as Magnetic Luminous Eye Color Pencil in Sugar Baby (a luminous crystal).
These multi-tasking, waterproof, creamy eye pencils deliver intense pigment as eyeshadows, eyeliners, and eye primers. The 3-in-1 makeup pencils are easy to blend for a soft, monochromatic makeup look or statement smokey eye. Out of all the runway looks, here are a few of our favorites and some products that will help you copy them at home.
NAVY CAT-EYE MAKEUP
At the Christian Siriano show, makeup artist Sofia Tilbury gave models striking winged liner with navy and black liner. The rest of the makeup was on the simple side with bold brows and a flush of pink pigment on the lips.
Create a bold cat-eye with shade Shady Algae from NUDESTIX DARK ROMANTICS KIT. Then, use Sugar Baby on the high points of the face for a subtle glow. Finish by applying a small amount of GEL COLOR LIP + CHEEK BALM in Posh to the lips for a pop of pink. So easy and so dramatic!
At Altuzarra, makeup artist Dick Page applied “smudgy grey, rosewood and darkest black-brown around the eyes, with a little heat in a high, flushed cheek,” he wrote on Instagram.
Shade Cocoa from the DARK ROMANTICS KIT is perfect for achieving a similar look. Simply line your eyes with the makeup crayon and smudge lightly with your finger. The messy-chic look is so pretty on all skin tones. Take the look to the next level by taking GEL COLOR LIP + CHEEK BALM in Crave and dotting it on cheeks and lips. Blend with your finger or a blush brush.
GRAPHIC BLUE LINER
At the Maryam Nassir Zadeh show, makeup artist Fara Homidi applied this ultra-cool graphic blue liner to model Lilian Sumner. We can’t stop looking at it! She kept the rest of the makeup natural to allow the eyeliner to do all the talking.
Start by applying shade Hot Stone all over the lids as a neutral base. Then, use shade Shady Algae to line the top lashline out into a cat-eye. Line the bottom lashes but don’t connect to the two. Voila!
